About the Role
Shift Time: Saturday (Approximately Two Weeks Before the BBQ)
Volunteers on this crew split the wood collected for the BBQ, build the BBQ pit and stack the wood in the pit ready to be ignited. Volunteers are welcome to bring chainsaws to help cut the wood into manageable lengths for splitting. Several gasoline-powered log splitters are also used.
Requirements
Good strength and stamina are needed to fulfill this role.
Being able to stand for long periods of time, bending, stooping, loading, unloading are all part of this job.
Must be willing to work in inclement weather.
