Director of Christian Programming & Ministry

Mt Hebron UMC is seeking a full-time Director of Christian Programming & Ministry.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Be a professing Christian committed to ministry in and through the church and believes in the basic tenants of the United Methodist Church;
• Have a four year Bachelor degree;
• Have Christian program ministry experience on a professional or volunteer basis;
• Have a heart for the ministry in God’s church with God’s people;
• Enjoy working with people;
• Be a team player who is honest, dependable, and maintains confidentiality; and
• Have a working knowledge of technology, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.

ITEMS OF MINISTRY:
1. Exhibit a Christ-like attitude in all actions and words;
2. Support laity by reviewing and recommending programs, special Bible studies, and other appropriate studies for use church-wide or by target groups;
3. Identify, Invite, Equip and Support teachers and leaders needed for Sunday School, Bible studies, and other appropriate studies for use church-wide or by target groups;
4. Conduct training and orientation for teachers, special recognition and appreciation of teachers along with the help of age-level team members;
5. Support the mission and ministries of the church by coordinating resources, schedules and facilities for ongoing and special activities;
6. Support laity in the Wednesday night program by providing coordination of activities and periodic assessment of effectiveness;
7. Maintain basic supplies for use of all programs and ministries;
8. Recommend, order and evaluate use of Sunday School literature for children, youth and adults to Christian Education work areas .
9. Support clergy, staff, and laity by promoting and publicizing programs and activities of the local church, district, and conference within the church and community;
10. Perform other tasks and attend meetings as directed by the supervisor in support of the ministries and mission of the church; and
11. Enhance their personal effectiveness in the ministry of the church through continued personal development both professionally and spiritually.

SCHEDULE: Full-time professional position requiring flexible hours including Wednesday Nights and Sunday Mornings.
