Hispanic Ministries | Mt Hebron UMC ¡Bienvenidos! Welcome to Mt Hebron United Methodist Church. This community of faith believes that our Hearts, Minds, and Doors are Open to all our friends and neighbors. We especially welcome those in our community whose language, culture, or faith background may be different than many who are already part of our congregation. We seek to minister and serve God lado a lado (which means side by side) with the Hispanic/Latino community in West Columbia. Language Outreach
The Missions Committee of Mt Hebron, in partnership with a local community organization, hosts English as a Second Language (ESL) classes for those speaking Spanish who want to learn English. Our fall semester began in September 2009. The Missions Committee also sponsers one-on-one "language exchange" opportunities where those who want to speak English and those who want to learn Spanish can partner to learn each other's language. If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact us.
Good Samaritan Clinic The Good Samaritan Clinic offers free general medical consultations, free medicines if available or prescriptions, interpretation, services given in a linguistic and cultural environment, referrals to other health centers, screening tests for cholesterol and glucose, and health education programs. The Main Office is open to the public on Tuesdays at 6:00 PM. The West Columbia Office is open open to the public on Thursdays from 6:00 - 8:00 PM. Currently, Mt Hebron is offering support to be able to relocate the West Columbia Office to a permanent location that will offer more services and availability. The office will be located on Leaphart Street, behind Northside Baptist Church. If you can help financially or want to volunteer with construction, cleanup, or operation of the Clinic, please contact us.
