About Us

Welcome to Mt. Hebron United Methodist Church.  We are a church of nearly 1,200 members, which may seem large, but when you visit, you know that we have very warm and open hearts.  We are a mission-minded church, and a church invested in small group ministries.  Our Children’s Ministries and Youth Ministries are outstanding, and our Music Ministry offers both vocal and bell choirs for every age.  But, let me tell you a little bit about our mission and vision.

 

We are people who embrace the presence and power of God.  We have a firm belief that this church belongs to God and not to us.  Our worship, our small groups, our Sunday School and Fellowship times, all point us toward the presence of God, who alone is able to give meaning and purpose and hope to our lives.

 

We are people who engage all people.  We are a welcoming church, open and caring of new disciples.  We long to engage each other and thus develop our individual and collective faith.  We also want to engage the world.  It will never be enough for us to sit within the walls of this church building.  

 

We are people who empower disciples for Jesus Christ.  We want to empower others to live out their individual ministry through the use of their Spiritual Gifts.  Our goal is for every person to be empowered for ministry, and actively living their faith in their work, and home, and school.  We want to reach out, both in the community and in the world at large.
